Both entities have created a jointly-owned company called Wulkan Energy, aiming to drive the market forward with innovative solutions in renewable hydrogen production.
Seville-based engineering firm RPow, an expert in thermal energy storage, and Poland’s ASE have joined forces to lead the green hydrogen industry internationally. The two companies have established a jointly-owned entity named Wulkan Energy, based in Seville, which combines the innovative capabilities of both companies.
This new brand will focus on developing and implementing hydrogen production solutions, drawing on ASE’s expertise. ASE, with over 400 engineers and 16 subsidiaries, is involved in designing and building some of the largest green hydrogen, e-methanol, and green ammonia projects in Central and Northern Europe.
“The creation of Wulkan Energy is a strategic step for RPow and ASE, allowing us to combine our strengths and expertise to expand in the Iberian Peninsula, which hosts the EU’s largest investments in green hydrogen development,” said César Martín-Montalvo, CEO of RPow.
Thanks to the union of these two experienced companies, Wulkan Energy has the potential to establish itself as a key player in the green hydrogen sector both in Europe and globally. The EU aims to produce 10 million tons of this renewable gas by 2030, with Spain hosting over 650 associated projects. Wulkan Energy will thus combine ASE’s proven expertise in this field with RPow’s knowledge of the Spanish energy market.
Wulkan Energy will offer a wide range of technical and management services in the hydrogen sector, from the design and execution of industrial projects to expert consulting that promotes energy efficiency and the adoption of clean technologies. “This new entity represents a unique opportunity to advance the development of energy technologies with a high degree of research and innovation, contributing expertise and talent to a growing market that demands companies with experience and excellence in operations,” stated Dariusz Jaochowicz, founder and president of ASE Group. “We are convinced that Wulkan Energy meets the expectations of a market with high demand and significant growth potential.”
